Welcome to LOTW.
Unless you're a spam commenter--then you're not welcome.
This blog is a forum for me and my friends and my friends' friends to talk about work and school and life in general, and to keep in touch as we cast our shadows across the globe.
I just have to say that I wish Bush would be as concerned about children after they are born as he is with them before hand.
I do see this as the beginning of the end... After all, we saw this coming when Kerry lost in '04. We knew that monkey boy would appoint conservative dicks to the Supreme Court.
Woah, woah. That wasn't what the ruling was about at all. If Roe v. Wade got overturned I'd be the first one out there complaining. However the only thing that was ruled on was a specific kind of partial-birth abortion that has been banned for quite awhile in most states.
Here's a pretty good, reasonably unbiased link about it: http://www.scotusblog.com/movabletype/archives/2007/04/court_rules_att.html
Hey, it's a hard to read argument, I had to have someone more lawyer-speak fluent than me fully explain it.
As far as the slippery slope thing, I'm always in favor of just dealing with everything as it happens.
I'm glad to hear you're volunteering Steph, they're a good organization and can use all the help they can get I'm sure. Also thanks for reminding me that there's outdoor Farmer's Market again!
the thing that's really dangerous about this ruling is that there is no exception for the health of the woman. Life yes, but health, no.
But that's incredibly incredibly lame, bcz I can't think of any other reason (besides a life threatening situation) for someone to get a partial birth abortion.
i mean, what kind of fucker thinks that concern for a woman's health is not a damn good reason?

It's the start of a slippery slope. I do believe that it means we will see more in the future.

Yeah, Nick, I guess that's the way to go with things. I guess most of my frustration stems from wanting things to move in a different direction.
