So...for those of you who read this and don't know via Facebook....Brian and I are now officially engaged (as opposed to unofficially, which we were before). I think we will get married in Spring of 2010. I would try to be as awesome as our favorite Jessie and throw us a party just for the sake of having one, but everyone's all scattered about the country right now, so it would be a really lame party. Maybe sometime when we can get most of us in Madison we can have a party.

Or maybe we'll just see you all at our kick-ass-take-names wedding!!!

Republicans...Hypocrosy....Throw me bone!!!!

Last Friday night at the gym, I spent somewhere between 30 min- 40min convincing my friend to vote for Obama . Thank god there was not that many people around because it was a heated discussion. I could not understand how could anyone vote for a Republican when the Republicans ran this country for 8 years and did nothing, when the US unemployment rate is 5%-6%, and when Bush's popularity rating is the worst among all US presidents. Do the American people really think the Republican party is the only party that can fix American problems created by the Republicans?

My friend believes that Obama will raise taxes. Well...according to Obama's policies, he will lower taxes for middle and lower class while increasing tax on the upper class. Wow, a tax break for the middle and lower class!!!! McCain will also provide a tax break to middle and lower class but not as much as Obama's policies. In fact, with Obama's tax policies, middle class Americans will pay less tax by $500-$700 compared to McCain's tax policies. Maybe my friend did not understand that he is a middle class American or failed to do research on tax policies from each candidate.

He also stated that the money he earns, he should keep and believes in "Survival of the fittest". BTW, this is coming from a conservative Republican. WTF!!!!! From what I understand and see, the majority of Republicans are religious people and have small town values in which people help other people. So should not religious Republicans be charitable and help the less unfortunate people financially???? Better yet, should not a person with small town values help their fellow neighbor/other people financially too? WTF!!!! C'mon, a few hundred dollars won't kill you. The worst case scenario is you cannot take a 3rd or 4th vacation.

My conclusion of the Republicans and my friend is they are all full of hypocrisy. They preach Christian and small town ideals to make them look good but in the end they don't even practice those ideals. That is why I am always a Democrat and voting for Obama besides that fact that Obama is not a flip-flopper and not a liar compared to McCaine and McCaine's choice of V.P. Sarah Palin.

P.S. Please, vote in this coming presidential election and please analyze each candidate's solutions to American issues very carefully. United States needs a capable president with real solutions to real American issues.

So, I'm here in Louisville seriously missing all your sweet asses. I'm finishing my degree so that I can go back to Madtown to go into a doctorate program.

I'm hoping I can get my studying done for the GRE so that I can get into said program.

Other then this, some people here are being awesome, others are being douches. Mostly I'm taking it day by day.

Oh, I'm also dating someone in Madtown. He's a sweetheart who treats me like the queen I am. ^_^ Okay, not really but he is awesome.

Oh, and I wish I were going to a con with you guys. That would be awesome! Hey, is anyone going to be in Madison come December? I will be and it would be great to do some form of get-together. I guess I can facebook it as well, and email, and well, I should call some of you... maybe.

I would love to see this revived since we are all over the place currently.

wow, it's been aaaages since i posted!

I'm goin to Otakon next week! I'm going to be yaoi Shikamaru and andy's going as yaoi Asuma and Steph's gonna be Gaara (yes! steph's coming to visit me too!!!)

So I'm excited about that, and I'm seriously seriously procrastinating on my paper that's due tomorrow. Ugh, I have to get a B in this class or else I'll get rejected by nursing school. So... I should probably go do that....

So, Careers Conference was a bust. I hated it, but it's over and done. I have the week to finish working there and then it will be blissful till May.

I'm glad to see other people posting, yay kitty!!

Speaking of cats, I will probably be parting with mine once I decide to leave. He loves Inky and Mel too much (and who could blame him?). I don't want to make him leave that which he knows.

In other news, the seminary apparently was hit by a tornado. Weee! So glad I'm not there right now. linky

I also got Rock Band and it is every bit of awesome that I thought it would be. :-)

Things are going way too fast, but I'm surviving. Mostly, I can't wait till this job is over. It's raping my soul, chewing it up, spitting it out, crapping all over it, and then throwing it into the sewer.

Huh, I thought the labels suggested would change from season to season, seeing as how it's not fall anymore. Meh, oh well.

No.....not having children. God help them when that happens.

Brian and I are getting a cat. I'm still not sure how I feel about that, since I'm still not sure overall how I feel about cats. This one has a story though, so I felt bad for it. My co-worker's voice teacher is moving in with her partner (the one with the cat) and she has 2 dogs AND is allergic to the cat. So, her partner needs to get rid of the cat. She didn't want to give it to a shelter, because (here's the part where I couldn't let it just go to a shelter) when she was living in California, there were alley cats behind their office building and apparently one of them had gotten into the ceiling and had kittens. So, she heard a lot of mewing from inside the wall one day, and found out that this cat and his sister had fallen down into the wall. She had the maintenance people come and tear out a big section of the wall panels and she took them home. She found someone who wanted the sister cat, but not this one.....and so she's had him for 5 years. So..........now he's coming to live with us. He comes with the name Sprite, but we (being the anime lovers we are) are re-naming him. He's gray and white, so we can't name him Kyo (cause it wouldn't work). We thought about naming him Haru, but Haru is a cow, not a cat.....maybe if he were spottier...........So (though he looks NOTHING like this cat) we've decided to name him after the cat in The Prince of Tennis and call him Kalpin. We're picking him up on Sunday.......and then I will have a cat.

Hey, guys. I'm visiting Madison Dec 26-30. I'll be working most of the time, but I'm going to Lelah's party on the 29th (my day off), Iris's birthday party night of the 30th, and maybe the 'dise for a bit if any of that set is going. What's everybody else up to? Any great holidays? Any yule-tide nightmares? Anybody celebrate Winter Solstice? Jon mentioned sacrificing a goat, but I just ate goat ice cream instead. We were lazy. I think goat ice cream involves some personal sacrifice, if not goat morbidity. It can be tasty, but it took a little acclimation. I think I'm going to avoid paying for foods that involve effort to enjoy. The weather was pretty nice after I ate it, so maybe we can all put blood-shed behind us. Maybe not. I really don't know anything about Winter Solstice beyond the day length and Jon's quips. Mmm...back to work. I miss you guys.

Thought I'd wish y'all a happy lots of food this weekend...and by that I mean Thanksgiving. I hate it when people say "Turkey Day".....what if you don't EAT turkey on thanksgiving. Some people have tofurkey, some people have ham, my friend Jessi's family has rock lobster. That's not turkey.....but, I digress (I just had 3 cups of coffee + Kahlua at the office.......I like this office). I'm posting.

I'd like to say, for the record, that I don't really post anywhere anymore. Nor do I live through facebook as I once did.......which is sad. Also, it's true that I don't really post, but it's not true that I don't write posts in word document form while I'm looking like I have something to do to fill the additional 7 hours a week I work now. I write them. I e-mail them to myself. And then I don't really ever get around to or feel like actually posting them. They'd go on my LiveJournal anyway.

I do update my website and the Nerd Blog occasionally though, so if you're periodically really bored and want to read about anime, manga, or video games, you can look at those I guess. I'm also finally getting around to writing dialogue treatments for the manga that Brian and I always conceptualized about myself.....but they also aren't posted yet. I'll let you know when you are so that all of you out there in boredom land can read them if you're so inclined. I have no formal training as a writer, so I'm sure they're not awesome. They just are what they are.

We have an html editor program at work, so if I could figure out how to write the countless anime and manga reviews that I've been meaning to post on the website without using reference materials, I bet I could get a lot more things done during the day.

Anyway......here's to never having any work to do on Fridays. If I make the window really small, it kinda just looks like I might be typing an e-mail, so maybe I'll post more often from work.

Love and stuff to all from increasingly cold Minneapolis. I'll be in Madison on a limited engagement for a few days in November, but most of that time is reserved for dog walking and anime club, so if you want to see me you'll have to come there.

I got a job, working with educational sciences. I'll be working on a conference. It isn't the Level 2 Official Ass position I was hoping for, but it works.

You have no idea how I am right now...

Well, I didn't get the job and that kind-of sucks, but I am working on possibly getting a job over at American Girl. God, that would be awesome.

Other than that, I'm going down to Louisville. That's right, an impromptu trip to see Elvis Costello!!!!! On top of this, I'm going to be "watching" my parent's vehicle during that week. It was their idea, with me planting a couple of seeds in their minds. So, I get a free car rental and I get to go down to Louisville to see certain folks, and I get to see one of the artists I've been meaning to see.

My cat is awesome, but I'm still trying to place a name. I want something that's fitting and I don't know what yet.

And it's really fun!! I wonder if there's a graffiti program you can add to blogger, bcz I think that's my favorite feature. You all know how much I love drawing MSPAINT style.

Tonight andy and I are going to see Jesca Hoop at Club 9:30, which looks like it's a pretty cool venue (if it is, then that's 1 more place to take any of you prospective visitors). She finally had a full-length CD come out a few weeks ago so hopefully I can buy one at the show.

It looks like she's making a stop in Chicago as well on Oct.7th, and she'll be in Minneapolis on Oct 8th so if you're interested and you have the time you should go see her. I think she's pretty cool, even though it diiid take her 9 months to send me the demo cd I ordered.

Well, I have an assignment to submit now so off I go. I just single-handedly finished what was supposed to be a group project. It's so weird being the smart one at school again... it's kinda like repeating high school...

Not only is it a fun game but I'm also there, as of right now!

I may (now this isn't definite, but damn do I have a good chance) have another university job. It would be with the WERC (I believe that is correct. I really should check these things). I would be an Office Ass level 2. That's right a level 2 Official Ass.

Well, that's me changing the name just a tad. But I would get to do the same stuff I'm doing right now and guess what, I get to interact with more people, I get my OWN desk in my OWN office, and I get to mess with people's heads if I so choose. Oh, and I get to make more money. Ah the monies, the monies are always good.

So good, so good, so good!

Well, I have to get to work and get as much crap done as possible so that Tom doesn't have to rely on the twins too much. Since they don't do a damn lick of work anyway.

Oh, I'm happy. The interview couldn't have gone better and one of the guys said that he'll be seeing me later as in "Well, take care and see you soon."

Well, as I stated in an earlier post I was getting a kitty. I went to see March last night and I won't be getting him. He's still too timid around people so we aren't a good fit. However, I did meet Oakley:

He's a sweet kitten and much better acclimated to people in general. Oh, and he's sooooo fuzzy!

Anyway, I'll be adopting him as soon as I get all the paperwork in order.

Hey everyone, happy September!

Things seem to be rather hectic for everyone. Personally I've made some decisions about where and what I'm going to be doing.

First, I'm moving back to Louisville. Date will be in May sometime. Plan is to get out before the lease is up in our place.

Second, I'm going back to school, though hopefully for only another year then another two.

Third, I'm hoping after graduation to move out of the country to study abroad.

Fourth, I'm enjoy Madison as much as I can before leaving. However, with most of you outside Madtown, it looks like I'll be living, saving and then (maybe) flying to see people.

Currently I'm watching Angel and going to Game Night at the Abode. In other news, we have a microwave at out place and my job, though tedious is starting to pick up now that classes have begun. I think I may have a place for a while, but I'm not counting on it. I'm currently looking for temp jobs and other things that will hopefully end between 6 and 9 months. As time crawls forward, I'll be looking for shorter time frames.

Well everyone….since it seems like everyone is moving in new directions at this time in our lives, I thought I would follow suit. Yes, that’s right…I’m leaving Madison. It’s been a good 7 year run, but I thought I should get out before it’s too late (and since the best opportunity in the world has come my way). On September 24^th I start working for The Nature Conservancy in Minneapolis. For those of you who don’t know, I’m currently working for The Nature Conservancy in Madison doing GIS and other assorted odd jobs around the office. My new position would be that of GIS analyst for the Central US Region, which includes 10 states (including Wisconsin) and 2 large scale projects (the Great Rivers Program and the Great Lakes Program). This is an amazing opportunity, and it means that I get to live in one of the places that I’ve always dreamed of spending a few years of my life….the TC (that’s Twin Cities for those of you not up on the lingo). Like I said, I start working on September 24^th, so I anticipate that I’ll be moving on the 23^rd (if any of you are so inclined to help me out!). If you want to see me before I leave, I suppose we should try to plan something (though with Brian and I both moving out now, my house might not be the most organized place to get a lot of people together). The complication is that I will be in Milwaukee for weddings on the weekend of the 14^th and the 21^st, so if we do plan something, it will need to be the weekend of the 8^th or 9^th (Friday night is probably the best that weekend…the 7^th.) or else some Thursday night, since I’ll be gone for the next 2 weekends. Also…if anyone wants to come visit Brian and I in the TC, give us some time to get a place to live, then let us know. Any of you are welcome at any time.

It’s scary to leave Wisconsin….even though I’ve always said I wanted to. I’ll miss you all, so make sure to call/e-mail/IM often ok!!!

I'm flying to Madison from Friday night (Sept 14) to Sunday night (Sept 16). I figure I can get together and do something fun for a couple hours one night and one morning. I am going to have to spend a lot of time studying, so that's pretty much all the pure fun I can handle. I might go visit my dad in Milwaukee, too. Hopefully, my workload for that weekend will be manageable. I think it has the potential. Anyway, I wanted to let people know. More info to follow. :D

So, since everyone else is trying to resurrect this blog, I decided that I'll start posting as well.

I realize that this blog has no reference really to me being now in Madison. Which means, I haven't been posting much. I know I put on here somewhere that I'm now divorced...

Anyway, I'm in Madtown and I'm sharing an apartment with a wonderful roommate (blogger identity) CaraMel. I'm still working at the Center for Dairy Profitability and am currently looking elsewhere for employment. For the most part I'm enjoying things I didn't really get to do before (going to game night at the Abode, playing Ultimate Frisbee, going out with friends to karaoke) and missing school. Classes are going to start soon here and they have already started down in Louisville. I miss it.

And though it seems a little early, I'm getting another kitty (hopefully). I still have to meet him. His name is March, but I think that will change to Kyon-Kyon if I get him.

hey all-

Thought I'd give a report since it has been so long since i've posted anything here.

Life has changed for me too, as since last Wednesday I've moved into my sweet new pad....and found myself unexpectatly lonely and depressed. Maybe its just that I'm missing my close friends that have left the midwest, or maybe this is just a phase i have to go through before i totally live on my own...

When I finally got the majority of my stuff moved in, and was on my own, i just started crying...didn't plan on that happening. plus now that i've started seeing jeremy again my anxeity has been kicking back in.....hence why right now as I write this I am NOT at my new place, but back at home in S.P....i have to say i'm appreciating my family a little more lately.

However--Jo will be staying with me next weekend! and that's totally exciting!

also, frisbee starts again this Monday, so hopefully with that and work, things will start to improve....also this Wednesday I'll get internet at my place...and oh, i'll be doing tons of stalking....

Now that I can post again, I will. I also am employed, by North Carolina State University. Classes start Wednesday, and my adviser gets back from vacation Monday. It turns out they don't expect me to start up a project any time soon. It'll involve something with quantitative disease resistance in these 3 different fungal foliar pathogens of corn, along with a lot of statistics and walking around a field in the long tradition of plant disease genetics. I like these things, as I found out all of my fellow grad students do. That's how corn geneticists come into being - by default, because no one else would willfully do the protocols. I know a lot of you guys would, too, because this is a blog of nerds. Awesome.

Um, so, school is good, and the state is pretty cool, too. I haven't seen as much racism as I was lead to expect yet, which is cool, and people are REALLY nice here. There are a couple really kick-ass bars for beer, too. Oh, and lots and lots of trees. Raleigh-Durham-etc is kind of like one really spread out large town. It's all either residential, strip malls (even all the local places are in strip malls) or sporadic short stretches of small street with local commerce in old buildings (like the Main St in every small town). All the buildings have big lawns and lots of trees between them, and the residential buildings are either old houses or really new townhouses/condos. The whole thing is spread out over about a 100-mile-long stretch of interstates. So, if you drove just 5 minutes, you'd think you just went through Oconomowoc or something, but then you could keep driving through areas just like that for another 2 hours on the side roads. It's kind of strange, but it's nice, too. And the barbecue is really good, there's a lot of fried food, and the Mexican is really bad. My co-worker and I went to a Mexican restaurant in a mountain town, and, among other not-too-tasty things, they served us really crappy Chinese rice. Oh, and everyone that worked there was Mexican. Strange. They also did not have margaritas, but they did have daiquiris. The service was great, though. The local ice cream stand was good, and named Party Time. This isn't important, but I still can't stop laughing at the idea of an ice cream stand named Party Time. Ice cream is great, but it is not, in and of itself, a party. So I think. Maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, I really miss you guys. I don't have any friends yet to go out with on weekends, but I think I may eschew making any and just read papers and all of your myspace/facebook profiles on my days off. It's kind of been making me feel like a stalker, since a lot of you post about groups of people I don't know all that well, but it's been nice anyway. Please everybody start posting again, and I will totally read it. :D

yes, i am employed now.

I work for andy's boss's wife, who's also an entomologist (yaaay!). We're doing monitoring of mosquito and tick-borne diseases from different army bases. I'm doing a lot of the same stuff that I did while i was in california, but with way more cool and competent people. and they're paying me pretty damn good for a part time job-- $18/hr! wooohooo!!!

Meanwhile, I'm still having issues getting the documents I need to prove I'm resident here, so if I take any classes it's gonna cost me like $300 per credit instead of half that, which sucks major ass. All I need is to show them somthing that proves i've been here for 3 months that they'll actually accept. Hopefully it'll work out, but i'm not holding my breath.

So jo, I'd still like to see you if you're heading out this way--just lemme know where you'll be and when and if possible i'll get my ass there too.

and sarah j if you still read this i needs your home address so i can accurately mapquest you!

For those of you who were lucky enough to meet Melech, I had to put him down this morning. The growth on his jaw was cancerous and there wasn't anything they could do to fix, stop, delay the growth. Thus, I had to put him to sleep.

He was a very good kitty and I'll miss him terribly.

Andy and I will be celebrating the day by going to the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring to watch Friday the 13th. There's a 10pm show and a midnight show, and we initially thought we'd see the midnight show...

then we realized that we'd really just be seeing the movie on Saturday the 14th, and that just seemed kinda lame...

Anyways, it feels really good to be here. No job, no wedding to plan, no mom yelling at me for being the biggest disappointment of her life because I left my PJs on the bathroom floor.

not that not having a job doesn't cause some stress, although it looks like i'll be getting a great part time job w/ andy's boss's wife working on mosquitoes. yay!

Meanwhile, i'm still working on getting my school application in...lol sorta. I've been planning on writing an essay with my application, but well, i'm really lazy. soooo i've been kinda thinking about what to write aaannd that's about it. I'm just still so pissed that the school i was originally going to go to refused to accept my status as a resident. so lame. Maybe i'll see if i can still get in to classes there, but who knows. I'm not sure I care enough since it's obvious they don't give a shit about me, or any of their students for that matter.

i feel like that one episode of Futurama where they have to make a delivery to the planet of giant Amazon women and Fry, Zap Brannigan and Kiff all get sentenced to death by Snoo-snoo.

I'm utterly terrified, then I'm elated, then I'm back to being terrified. God, it just feels like I have some sort of huge exam or presentation or something, and if i don't pass my parents will kill me. I just want it to be over so I can run away to Maryland and never have to live with my parents again.

i'm just sooooooooooo nervous. i just don't wanna go through with all this crap. weddings are supposed to be happy but for me every day is a living nightmare.

andy comes on wednesday. if i can just keep holding on to the small shred of sanity that still remains, i think i might make it.

I have this recurring dream:

me, standing on the dancefloor in my giant white wedding gown, having a decent, average time.

suddenly this hoard of screaming children with messy faces encircle around me and rush forward with cake-covered fingers outstretched.

I wake up only in time to realize that the reality of my nightmare is less than a month away.

God fucking dammit, i hate hate hate hate children.

so why the fuck is everyone bringing their kids??? Because nobody gives a fuck what i want, that's why.

I already gave up the idea of a small, maryland wedding at the courthouse. I gave up on having family dinner wedding in Wisconsin. I got the church booked, and the reception hall booked, and the big huge fucking wedding dress, all because i didn't want everyone to be so god damn dissapointed in me.

And now I have to deal with their children???!

I'm 2 more invitations away from tying piano wire around my neck and jumping off a bridge.

On top of that, the music I wanted for the wedding is out. They fucking can't play the Beatles when I walk down the aisle---Why you ask? Well bcz the song I want doesn't reference God. The piano guy then proceded to play me some god-awful contemporary christian vomit by Steven Curtis Chapman which is just fine because it had a line that said, "I'm thankful to you and the one who gave you to me."

You know what I'm thankful for? Baseball bats and justifiable homicide.

That said, jesus fucking christ has it been busy since i last posted!!

First of all, I'm soooo soooo sooo unbelievably happy for you Jo!!! I know you're gonna be famous worldwide someday ;)

Second, I'm so sorry to hear things didn't work out for you and Sol, Savav. Seeing how you'll be in madison tho, i'm glad I'll get a chance to see you and buy you several rounds of drinks at some point in the near future.

Man, this year so far has been so fucked up and crazy. I was planning on having a nice, small wedding, but somehow i got punched and kicked into a little ball of conformity, and now here i find myself myself knocked up with the bastard child of what looks like it's gonna be a nasty behemoth of the plain old stupid boring church wedding that everyone seemed to want for me but I would've rather aborted in a dirty dark ally.

and my korean grandfather died about 2 weeks ago. I didn't get to say goodbye and i'm never going to see him again.

anyways, the only thing that could make things better at this point would be if everyone who still reads this blog wants to party with me before I get married (Dirty Nurse party!!! Wooohoo!!!).

Oh, and we decided a date: Sunday, May 27th (2007).

If it's the last weekend of July tho, i think my sister's in-laws are holding a second wedding party or something in Atlanta for their side of the family, which is kinda weird (and really dumb in my opinion bcz it was so fricken expensive the first time they got married; whatever) but it means I'm obligated to go. UGH. Anyways, just as long as I get to see u at some point i'll be happy. ^^

As far as dirty nurse party goes, let's see if we can do it the weekend before my wedding, like May 19th. I know Sauce, u said you'd be busy the whole Memorial Day weekend moving stuff for work, so lemme know if this works better for you.

I'm getting ready for my move back to Madtown. My parents are coming tomorrow and staying till Friday.

I don't know when exactly I'm going to be back in Madison, but it will be around the 20th.

Just so it is no secret, here's the dish:

Sol and I got into a major fight.

Things have been building up since we got married.

We are now seperated.

I am getting happier by the day.

It seems to be working for us.

By time I leave here we will be divorced.

I'm taking a leave from seminary to gather up myself, do some reflection, make some money, and I plan on returning to Louisville when the time comes.

I am maintaining membership to Highland in Louisville because I plan on being back.

I am looking forward to coming "home."

Well, it's interesting, this new blogger. This is the panda, just so you all know.

I took a test the other day: the Biblical Content Exam. If you want a taste for what that's like, feel free to visit here.

It was annoying to study for and even more annoying to know that all ministers wish for the thing to be erased from existence. In any case, I needed a 70 to pass. When I finished the ones that I definitely knew, I had 76 questions (of 100) answered. So, this is just another thing I can send to my CPM and tell them where to go (that and my 3.5 this past semester... can't handle graduate level academics my...).

Now that I'm done gloating, I have to get back to work. I've been sick for the past week so I need to clean.

And now for the news:

So Andy came back to visit for Thanksgiving and the last day he was here we went to the Field Museum in Chicago to hang out and kill some time before I had to take him back to O'Hare. We walked around for awhile and then decided to go outside and walk around a little bit. There's a metal dinosaur skeleton outside the museum that Andy and I had taken our pictures by on one of our first dates (on that occasion, we'd gone all the way to Chicago to see the museum, only to find it closed so we ended up just taking silly pictures by the dinosaur and going home). So anyways I knew something was up since that morning Andy had bought me flowers and cookies from Piggly Wiggly, and he hardly ever buys me flowers (not even Piggly Wiggly flowers), so I'm a little nervous. We get to the dinosaur, and I feel like I have to say something, so I say, "So, do you want to take a picture?"

Andy says, "sure. Do you want to marry me?"

Me: "of course I want to marry you!!! :P"

so that's it. we're engaged!

YAAAAAY!!!!

he even bought me a ring!!! It's cool too; we found it at an antique shop--it's from 1935 and so it has some really cool art-deco design to it but it's not huge and gaudy. so yay! I'm happy.

And as you all know, this can only mean one thing:

DIRTY NURSE PARTY!!!!

I'm thinking the party probably won't be until Memorial Day weekend, because I'm going to be busy with school and wedding plans and whatnot (i.e. trying to have the nicect easiest wedding while not disappointing too many people). Ugh, I really don't want to have to think about it. I feel like I ought to do something tho, like a picnic reception or something. I just don't want to stress about it or spend a lot of money on something I can't really afford.

so that's that.

if anyone wants to celebrate my engagement this weekend, i'm thinking of coming up on Saturday night. Maybe we can all go somewhere and get all sorts of drunk. I mean come on!!! I fucking got engaged!!!

I am not sure how this happen, but I am actually seeing someone. Last Friday night, some how it ended up me going out with this 19 year old girl. It started out like a loophole date because none of my buddies were in town. So, we ended up having dinner and going to a movie. It felt like a date with her vibes, but I was not sure. Then, yseterday at gym it all went down. Donna told me how much fun Jane(fake name) had with me. By the way, Jane works at the gym. Later on, Jane announces to everybody that we went out on a date.

I do like this girl because of who she is. The girl makes me laugh. We are getting together to do something on Sunday. I am not sure how to handle this dating thing. Any advice?

so since I can't find the pic I'll have to draw something... but that can come later, when I'm finished w/ my assignment that's due before midnight.

In other news I had an inpromtu vacation to go visit andy in MD last weekend. The return flight was delayed, but I didn't care bcz they bumped me up to first class!!! Weee! United can make a pretty decent Amaretto sour btw--tho the more you order, the less alcohol they put in them (I had 3 so i should know).

What was even better was that, while i was sitting there with my drink, the rest of the passengers were boarding and a little girl walks by and says in a whiny high pitched voice,

"daaaadddy, how come they have better seats than we do???"

the dad replies bitterly, "well, honey, it's because they paid a LOT more money than we did."

hehehe! oh man, i think that was one of the best moments of my life. I just wanted to yell

That's all I'm gonna say about that for now, except to mention that as soon as we're engaged we're gonna throw a Dirty Nurse party to celebrate my dire need for health insurance, as well as the fact that i've decided to go into nursing instead of radiography (nurse anesthesia to be specific--sounds cooler and pays way better).

I'm still kinda stressed about the idea of having to plan a wedding, but I think i'm gonna try to get around it by getting married in front of a judge in Maryland, and then maybe throwing a desert and wine reception sometime after the fact in Wisconsin. Any ideas that can help me keep costs down are greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned the real wedding celebration will be the Dirty Nurse party, so as soon as i'm formally proposed to I'll try to let you know as well in advance as possible so you can plan accordingly (like I promised, Jo!!!)

Oh and bito the present I ordered you finally came in the mail, so I'll have to come see you soon so I can give it to you. Andy's coming back for Thanksgiving weekend... maybe we can all get together then, depending on what everyone else has going on.

I want my kitchen table, and my coffee table, and to feel like I can use the living room when she's home without her needing to control what's going on. And I missed you so much my Araby. More than I've ever missed you before.

Fall From Grace

This is by far the most of embarrassing moment in my entire life. I still cannot believe what happened. As some of you guys know, I have this huge crush on Skeletor, one of the ladies who works out at gym. The girl is hott. I have not seen a lower body like that, since my days at the Neilsen Center, watching the women's tennis team smack those green fuzzy balls around.

Of course, she has issues. I mean some serious issues. Her last relationship ended badly and combined with the fact that she is HOLY ROLLER, BIBLE THUMPER, JC'S BRIDE, AND ETC... you get the point. The gym staff even has name for her. They refer to her as HITLER. Once again, my loins and pride got the better of me. The girl is just hott.

So, a couple of Saturdays ago I did the unthinkable, stepping up to the plate to take my licking. I thought I could do this with 3 hours of sleep, but I was mistaken. Hey, I had to go out with the X-FRIENDS. I get there about noonish and she was there finishing her cardio. The girl looked busy, so I went upstairs to do some warm up lifts. A few minutes later, I see her talking to one of the trainers. Game time, baby!!! Seeing this, I strategically used the treadmill right next to the women's locker room. I should not have jumped on the treadmill, especially on a full stomach.

On her first pass to the locker room, I froze and did nothing. Moments later, she came out of the locker room and headed towards the tanning spa. This was not good because the stomach was really cramping up. The 24 minutes felt like an eternity. On her second pass, I see her coming towards me, heading to the locker room. I started to wave and saying HEY. Apparantly, I cannot wave, walk, and talk at the same time on the trendmill. All of sudden, I just stopped walking on the machine, so I go flying off the thing, banging my knee on trendmill, and almost hyper-extending the other. It was not a good site. Her eyes just widened and jaws dropped. It was awesome. The girl did not even ask me if I was ok and she calls herself goodie-two-shoes Christian. Whatever!!!

Of course, making a fool of myself on a simple machine did not stop me from achieving my goal. I popped right back up, like nothing happened and said HEY, HOW'S IT GOING? The girl shot me down with some lame of excuse of moving to North Carolina to do ministry work, which is like 7 months away. I do not regret anything that morning, accept for falling off the treadmill. Yup, another funny moment for the SAUCE at the gym.

it's been a rough week.

Andy and I drove out to Maryland Wednesday to look for apartments, which was pretty cool altho a hell of a lot of driving--13 or so hrs to get there and plenty of driving to and from apartment complexes in the DC area. My god there are some bad drivers out there. And I thought California was bad...

Maryland is like what would happen if all the freeways in California were changed to 35mph roads with stoplights. Yikes.

We were lucky enough to find a place Friday afternoon that happens to be right by the metro station with bus and train access, but our happy celebration time was cut short by a phone call.

Not 5 min after Steph called me to make some plans to go to Chicago, Andy's mom called to tell us that Grandma C. had suffered a major heart attack and died that morning. There was nothing to do but sign the lease and start driving home.

Andy's had it really rough the past month. His Grampa B. died of a long battle with cancer almost exactly a month ago, and that was hard enough. Grandma C. was in such good health--she had just gotten back from a wedding in Philedelphia and had had a really great time. No one expected her to go so quickly.

Grandma C.'s funeral was today, and although it was really hard, I think she would've been happy. All her friends and family came, and the pastor gave a really nice sermon. We had lots of pictures, and lots of good memories to share, and that helped quite a bit too.

My favorite memory of Grandma was when we went over to her house a few months ago to help her plant some flowers. Her and Grampa were in the process of remodeling the bathroom so the plumber was over, and Grandma introduced me and Andy to him as "her two grandchildren." I thought it was really sweet of her and it almost made me cry at the time. lol you can just forget about it now--I'm balling!

Anyways, Andy's off to Maryland on Thursday since he starts working on Monday already. I'll make sure he email's you all w/ his new phone number once he gets one. Call him up once in awhile, or better yet go visit him. Of course, he won't have a car to pick you up just yet if you fly in, but the train station really is just a mile down the road. :)

Or you could drive, but idk. It's abt $50 in tolls round trip and 13 hrs. Maybe when everyone's classes are over we can all carpool out there and hang out in DC for a few days. We'll see i guess.

I know I've been totally MIA for the past half a year... so i guess i'll just give u an update...
Yup, still in Korea and still at KBS... but this will be my last year...
I'm planning on going to grad school next fall... but alas, not to the states...
I really want to go to London, England... so hopefully i'll get accepted and then you guys can come visit me!
Anyway~ that's my plan for the next 2 years (journalism grad program is just one year)... and after that, only God knows...
But although London schools don't require the GRE... I am still planning on applying to schools in the states.. so Jess, I too, am taking the GREs soon! ARGH~~ I forgot all my math~~!
Anywhoo.. that's basically most of what's going on in my life~~

This post may sound shallow, but remember The Sauce is like an onion- many layers. Every since the burn incident with Skeletor, things has improve slightly. I have been ignoring her at the gym with no eye contact and of course no hellos, until last week. Some how, we kept running into each at the gym at the same time (not a stalker).

Last Thursday was the best. I showed up with my work threads and damn, did I looked good. The girl was heading towards the men's locker room and of course, she saw me walking by. Moments later, my friend Stacey shows up and joins me on the stair master. We did our thing and Skeletor gave Stacey the stare down. I hope it was the jealousy stare down because that would be so awesome. After finishing the stair master, Stacey and I did the trend-mill together. Skeletor walked right by us without saying a word to neither of us (Stacey kinda knows her), but when she got out of the women's locker I got the smile, wave, and the hello. I am making progress.

I take back what I said about those German Girls. They really suck giant gorilla balls. I really liked one of them, but that ended real fast last night after seeing her making out with some dudde. So yeah, the story goes went to the Bar Chicago for 3 hours, spending $41 for valvet parking, cover charge, a round of Miller, and pizza. A loophole date once again and they all got action from another (a European thing? or are they bi?) or from some stranger, leaving me out. I have headache just thinking about it. How is my life getting stranger by the minute? I mean seriously, what the hell?

After 30 minutes, they all ditched me to fend for myself like a loser. What is the deal with that? In the US, you do not split up at a dance club especially in Chicago. Who knows what will happen if you end up in the wrong crowd? I do realize I have been getting huge at the gym, but how am I going to rescue you from a group of guys? I am not that big!!!

Thank god, I ran into my best friend Mandy. It was just one of those cool run-ins. I stopped talking to Mandy after getting bitched at for showing up a hour late to her b-day party. The thought of leaving Germans there in the city to have fun by themselves entered my mind, but I just could not go through with it. What would you have done if your so called "friends" left you at the club alone in the city? And then to put the icing on the cake, the person you had an interest in was getting on with some complete stranger. It was the best night ever.

So guys, here are characteristics of the ladies I have been interested in the past 9 months religious, no brains, party animal, and possible bi-sexual. This kind of stuff can only happen in the movies, but some how I am living it. They all have one thing in common, besides the obvious fact of being the opposite sex. I met them all at the gym. I went out with couple of German girls from the gym last Friday night. They are such fun people and man, they can drink. I still cannot get over their outfits. I will be dreaming about them for a very very long time. Hopefully, they will wear the same clothing this weekend when we hit the city.

Anyway. On Friday at 12:05 PM I will be leaving on a scary scary airplane (on which I will be trapped for 13 hours unless we all die first) for Tokyo. I'm excited....and nervous.....and a lot of things all at once. At any rate, I will bring back nerd presents from the supreme land of nerd (Akihabara) for all my favorite nerd friends. Also......I will take pictures. Lots of them. AND.....once I get my life back in order after the trip, there will be a photo contest on my website in which people can guess which anime is being referenced in the various photos and win the most awesome prize I brought back. There will also be an anime beverage gallery, which will feature me drinking or holding various beverages featured in anime. And Tokyo Tower and the giant ferris wheel in Yokohama.

Any rate......wish me luck, my friends. Bri and I will do what we can to post if we can get to a net cafe or something, otherwise we might have to wait until Korea. Oh...right. I'll be in Korea for a bit too (Aug. 10-14th) and for some portion of that I will be in Seoul. So......if people have things to be delivered to Jo, get them to me before Thursday night (unless you want to come to Milwaukee, in which case get them to me before Friday morning).

I've been pissed at Ace Rent A Car for a number of different reasons:

1. when we first got to the rental office in Los Angeles, they tried to overcharge me with some bullshit insurance fee.
2. they did succeed in overcharging me with some mandatory roadside assistance fee bringing my promised price of $70 to $82.
3. they gave us a fucking PT Cruiser which is NOT a Toyota Corolla or similar as far as I can tell.
4. they gave us 1/4 a tank of gas to start out with.
5. when i returned the car with 3/4 a tank of gas, the receptionist told me, "sorry, we don't do reimbursements for gas." I had to make a scene to get them to refund me for the extra 1/2 tank of gas I gave them.

Now that I'm home, I've discovered that I WAS CHARGED TWICE: once for $72 when I first reserved the car and again for $82 when I returned the car.

This is where CarRentals.com comes in. Those bastards made it look like my rental charge was only $69.85 and if I wanted extra collision coverage, I'd just be charged $71.94--a mere $2 extra.

NOT SO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!

So we made it to California!

Jess, Andy, and I got in with no problems, got our rental car (a hideously ugly cum-white PT Cruiser), and made it to Lisa’s house, where we are currently staying.

We ate at this amazing and cheap Thai restaurant and spent the rest of the day trying to survive 104 degree heat.

Now we’re getting ready to sleep so that we can wake up early tomorrow for the first day of the Anime Expo!

Also for you at home who are paying attention---we have put forth a contest. When Jess, Andy, and I go to the Expo, we are going to keep a tally of everytime a guy creeps out either Jess or I.

Hi all. Man, I haven't seen you guys for the longest time. Anyone want to go get a drink with me sometime??? I'm around. Working on my project and freaking out mostly. And updating my website.

Anyhow. Thanks to the wonders of Apex Property Management, I'm now conducting extensive apartment searches in my free time as well. This is the source of most of my freaking out. See....it's all about timing here. I'm going to Japan. August 4th to the 14th. I'll be back in Chicago at 3PM on the 14th and then have to do the customs thing and get myself back here. This means.....not moving out on the 14th. And so. I need to find an apartment that I can move into "leisurely" in the 3 days before I leave for Japan (meaning August 1st to the 3rd, of course). Anyone with a vehicle willing to help me do this will be greatly greatly greatly rewarded. And by this I mean.....I'll take all of you that I can get, AND, Bito...can we use your truck again??? Mind you. I don't even have an apartment yet. But. Never hurts to plan ahead. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and get someplace in the Hilldale area that's available NOW and I can take it even more slowly. That's ideal I think.

Other things. Does anyone have any boxes I can put my stuff in. The earlier I can be using my free time to pack up the tremendous amount of THINGS I seem to have accumulated over my time in Madison, the better. And....when they put in the new furnace, the heating company threw away all my boxes that were in the basement. Sari.....freaking out. OCD is out of control right now, kids. Out of control.

Speaking of things that are in my basement. Anyone want my old HP Pavilion computer. I'll give you the whole thing complete with original software. I installed Windows XP on it a few years back, so it's pretty up to date. It's got like a 20 gig HD and 128 megs of ram I think. I've also got like 2 printers if anyone wants those. Otherwise....to e-bay they go. Then to the used computer place. Then to the curb. I'd like to see it find a new, good, loving home though....that computer (though my sworn enemy at times...) was a trusty companion of mine through good times and bad. It's not quite the "powerhouse of anime entertainment" that the current system is, but it'll run for you. Let me know. I take bids, but mostly I just don't want to move it any more.

I just got back from the first ever Meksavan family road trip. Being stuck in the RV for 10 days with family can really be a challenge mentally, but I got through it. Of course, as soon as I got back the drama begins again.

When I was gone, the numbnuts (my workout buddies) did something involving Big Bird, the girl who blew me off earlier this year. This can only cause trouble for me. Mandy promised those numbnuts not to say anything because they wanted to see my reaction at first hand. I would have to wait until Monday to find out, 48 hours later.

On that Saturday night, I went out with Stacey's friends and one of the girls, who I just met for the first time happens to work for Big Bird's ex-employer. I am like what? According to my new drinking buddy, Big Bird quit her job to move to the Big Apple last weekend. How funny was that? We were going opposite directions, me west and her east.

I still need to confirm this with the numbnuts. Apparantly, on the day I left, she went up to my workout buddies and asked if I was around because she wanted to say GOODBYE. Why would she even bother after all that has happened between us? She still has my email address and cell number, so she can still do it. I highly doubt I will ever see or hear from this woman ever again. Oh yeah, I forgot we graduated from the same high school. The high school reunion should be interesting, if we both decide to attend.

In all honesty, I really wanted to end things with her on better terms. The last few months, we just said hello, nothing more. I truly wish her all the best and luck in the world with her new life. Despite all the negativity between us, I still consider her a friend and not an air-head bitch. Goodbye Laura.

Well, all you folkses had better be lovin' life, that's fur shore, and write more posts. Furthermore, to completely change the subject, I'm actually in the midst of founding a meaningful relationship with someone. He has the same insipid sense of humor I do (we spend most of our time drinking at dive bars; having sex; watching either arthouse/foreign films, B-action movies, or the CSPANs; talking about literature/life; or dryly sassing each other). We also unfortunately share forenames taken from Irish archaic region designations. With that, I mean, well...his name is Erin - like the arcane reference to Ireland or...err...the girl's name, yes.

Furthermore, Cemetery Man is the ultimate in disappointment. Don't be fooled by the promising premise - scene after scene are actually great joke after great joke bludgeoned by poor acting, contemptible cinematography, and the worst comedic timing I've ever seen. this morning i went to WCTC to figure out my admission status and within half an hr was already enrolled in my first class: Medical Terminology. So far it's not so bad--there's a lot of memorization but I'm pretty decent at that so I'm not too worried.

I'm still not sure whether or not I'm going to be staying with WCTC for the radiography program, but at least i can get started on some of the prereqs. There's actually a really good program near Appleton that i'm more interested in bcz it has an option to take an extra semester for just CT, which is what i wanna do. Most CT jobs are "learn when you're hired" so i think having that extra semester would be really nice. Plus, i can stay w/ my sister up there virtually rent free (can probably get away with paying just utilities). So yeah that'd be cool.

Andy's applying to a shitload of jobs, and so far only covance has called back. I'd like to see if he gets the same job I applied for--it'd give me more reason to suspect my former supervisor of sabotaging me. I'm still bitter.

If he does get a job, we've talked about the possibility of getting married--for health insurance.

If that happens, rather than have a big ceremony, we were thinking of just having a house party--but not just any house party . . .

What can I say? I've gone through most of the stages of grief and am somewhere between depression and acceptance. I mean, I fucking ruled that interview--why the hell won't they hire me?!

Goddamn it, if only I'd had more time I would never have used my previous boss as a reference. He told me he gave them "an honest but good reference," and I can only now suspect what that might have meant. That bastard. He's still ruining my life even now. UUUGGGHHH!!!! WHY DIDN'T I JUST ASK SOMEONE ELSE??! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!!

And there you have it, a giant fist-shaped wrench jammed into the anus of my plans. I shouldn't have counted so heavily on getting this job, but there you go--my mistake. I guess now all that's left is for me to start thinking practically. My options now are to apply for more jobs (yes, i'm retarded for sitting on my ass while applying to covance and waiting for them to hire me) or to go to school, which is what I originally wanted to do. I guess what i really need to do is both; my money is dwindling so even if i do get into school I'll most definitely need to get a job in the meantime.

More importantly for the sake of my mental health, I really need to get away from my mom. Having finished her bible school program (suffice it to say that throughout the graduation ceremony there was constant talk about the marriage rate among students and that it wasn't too late for the 2 remaining single women in the graduating class [they were actually named out loud by the dean!!!]) Mom now has her sights on taking classes at WCTC--one of the places I'm considering for school.

She's all, "we can take classes together!!! It'll be fun!!!"

No offense mom (well maybe a little), but nothing makes me sicker to my stomach. These days I can't stand being around her for more than a few hours a week, and she wants to take classes with me?!

It sucked enough with her making me do her bible homework (YES! SHE ACTUALLY MADE ME DO HER HOMEWORK!), all the while bearing down on me about my time and my life, constantly talking about how I should be planning for my wedding, asking me what andy says/feels/thinks about getting married, then asking what his parents say/think/feel, etc etc. And now she wants to take classes with me?! Study with me?! Spend all her freetime with me?! All while living with me?! Oh hell no. I'd rather be shot like a horse.

Don't get me wrong about Mom--she's always been a good mother. It's just she's really controlly. And maybe it just feels like that moreso now since I've had my own space for a long time, but there you have it. I'm used to being an adult.

The only good that could possibly come out of me staying at home and taking classes with mom (and yeah, i'd probably have to stay at home bcz i'm pretty damn sure i can't afford an apartment) would be hanging out w/ my brother. Poor kid. With us older siblings out of the house, he's been catching the brunt of my parent's nagging for the past 6 years or so. It's been cool being able to hang out w/ him more, and I think for that alone I can bare at least some of the crap I go through here. But dear god is it hard. I still end up avoiding staying at home by crashing at Andy's or his brother's. This makes me feel guilty for stranding Aj, but I don't think I could take it at all otherwise.

well, it's 3 in the morning, and maybe now that I've vented i can go to sleep. Tomorrow I'm going to email the HR person at Covance and ask her if she could tell me why I didn't get the job--for learning purposes. Julie told me she was gonna bitch to her supervisors. I'll probably sit around and dwell some more on how stupid i was to trust my supervisor as a reference, and then maybe look up other opportunities. We'll see how I feel.

means that WE NEED TO HAVE ONE HUGE-ASS PARTY AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER WHEN THERE ARE NO LONGER ANY MORE EXCUSES!!!!

Thats right, ladies and gentlemen. It's time to start planning for the END OF SEMESTER/GRADUATION/HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY COSPLAY PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!

I think we should plan for the weekend of the 13th, or the 19th. I know I've got crap going on Memorial Day weekend, as does Andy, so hopefully those 2 weekends are good. It's almost a month in advance too, which is good for me as far as making plans, so hopefully it's good for you too. I really really want to see this happen so lemme know what your plans are.

BTW, for those of you interested in comics and the like, there's a short-term exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Muesum that's all about Comics starting this Saturday. I'm planning on going w/ Andy and taking my brother, but if anyone has the time to join us, that'd be way cool.
